Locally crafted...
We purposefully craft our beers with our families, community, and each customer in mind. We have a mission to be more than just "a beer" to drink. We don't need to be the "first," but we will be the "best." We want our customers and all of Louisiana to be part of our family.
Our Flagship Beers
These four beers are the four pillars of German Coast Beer Co. Served all year round, There's something for everyone in this flagship selection.
Morning Star

Munich Helles Style Lager
4.7% ABV | 17 IBUs
Morning Star Lager is our signature beer! This beer reminds us of the legacy of the German Coast. The rich history of the hard-working people of Louisiana. The Great Grandfather of our owner worked at a bakery in the 1920’s called “Morning Star Bakery”, and there is a picture of him delivering bread in a horse drawn buggy in St. Charles Parish in 1920. We decided to name our flagship beer Morning Star Lager to remind us of history, family, and the hard work required to make something special.
We brew this golden Lager with a special Pilsner malt that is under modified for a richness in flavor and body. We use German Vienna Malt for a nutty toasted character that we be missed if not present.
This lager is hopped with American Liberty hops that are descended from historical German hops just like the people of our community.
Finally, this beer is cold fermented with yeast derived from the oldest brewery in Munich. This yeast leaves a clean beer that accentuates the malt character and balances the hops bitterness and aroma.
We believe that this beer is truly special and is a testament to the character and history of Louisiana.
Super Duck

Hazy IPA
6.0% ABV | 28 IBUs
When I was young, my great uncle owned a snowball stand in New Sarpy, Louisiana. He would make his own snowball flavors and come up with the craziest names for these custom flavors. One of these was “Super Duck”. We use the name Super Duck as a reminder of those times, but also to link us to the notion that hunting, fishing, and sportsmanship are such an integral part of Louisiana culture. We crafted the artwork for this label to look like the classic federal duck stamps that all duck hunters must buy every year and a vintage camo pattern to make us feel young and adventurous.
This hazy IPA is brewed with Pale American 2-row malt, red wheat malt, flaked oats, and Belgian Caravienne malt for a soft and pillowy texture. The malts give a smooth and sweet flavor to support all those fruity and tropical hops. This beer is amply hopped with Bru-1, Sabro, and Citra Hops that bursts with big and bold aromas and flavors of pineapple, citrus, and stone fruit. This is a crushable Hazy IPA that can be enjoyed by all.

Belgian Style Single Ale
5.0% ABV | 30 IBUs
This beautifully complex Belgian ale is the lightest of the “Trappist-style” ales crafted in the tradition of brewing monks.with crisp bright fruit notes of pear, apricot, citrus, and a touch of clove from traditional Belgian yeast. This beer is plentifully hopped with German Hallertau tradition for a clean bitterness and rounded floral citrus aromas to go with the esters from the Belgian yeast. This ale is brewed with Pilsner malt, Belgian Aromatic malt, and red wheat malt for a soft bready character and Louisiana Pure Cane Sugar for a fresh dry finish.
A truly religious experience and a perfect beer to start the new year!
1721 Bock
_edited.jpg)
Dunkels Bock Lager
4.5% ABV | 25 IBUs
We wanted to make a beer to recognize the German settlers that established the German Coast in 1721. What better style is there than a true German Bock?
This is a traditional Dunkels Bock that was brewed with all German malts. A blend of Munich, Vienna, Pilsner, a variety of German caramel malts, and dehusked roasted German malts for a smooth chocolatey note and the perfect dark chestnut brown color.
This beer is velvety smooth with flavors of dark toast, rich caramel, and dark dried fruits. There is just enough bitterness from German Hallertau hops to balance out the sweetness from all that malt.
Just as this beer recognizes the historical impact of the German settlers in Louisiana, we wanted this beer to also commemorate another historical event. January 21, 2025 saw the most snow ever recorded in Louisiana. We were able to collect the snow from that winter storm, melt it down and use the water to make this beer. This is truly a one-of-a-kind beer!
School Days Tailgate IPA
_edited.jpg)
Hazy Session IPA
4.% ABV
The dog days of summer have come to an end! It’s time to put away the swim trunks and get back to school. And the return of school brings back all of those fall classics: teachers, homework, carpools, and most importantly FOOTBALL!!!
We took our incredibly popular Pool Days Hazy Session IPA and modified it to fit the upcoming season. We started by changing the base malt to a Pale Ale malt that is a little richer, darker, and has some nice bready and toasty flavors. We also fermented this beer with a different ale yeast that accentuates the citrus character of the hops.
For hops we once again used Belma, Comet, Meridan, and we added a hefty dosing of Cashmere to push that citrus character even more.
This Session IPA has a punch of citrus and berry flavor and aroma. This beer drinks with a soft pillowy mouthfeel but it won’t weigh you down during those all-day tailgate parties.
Shortcut Canal

Gulf Coast IPA
6.5% ABV
Everyone knows a secret shortcut route to their favorite fishing or crabbing hole
We took our Super Duck IPA recipe and amped it up with more hops and a crisper finish. We call it a Gulf Coast IPA.
This summertime beer has a soft mouthfeel with a drier, crisper finish—it’s just slightly more bitter than our Super Duck IPA. We hopped this beer with Citra, Sabro, Bru-1, and Azacca hops. And then, we double-dry hopped with tons of Azacca hops for a bit of pine and an intense citrus and tropical aroma and flavor.
